The Milab VIP-50 is a high-end Swedish large-diaphragm condenser microphone that has developed a cult reputation in professional studios, especially for vocals and acoustic instruments.

What makes it unusual is the rectangular dual-diaphragm capsule. Instead of the traditional circular capsule used in most condensers, Milab’s design gives the mic a very fast transient response with a sound many engineers describe as somewhere between a condenser and a ribbon mic: open and detailed without becoming harsh.
