750 + frakt ☺️👍 The DigiTech Turbo Flange takes the compact purple X-Series format and turns it into a full-blown modulation laboratory. Instead of giving you a single canned flange sound, DigiTech stuffed seven different flanger voices into one box, from classic jet swoosh to triggered sweeps and random step patterns that feel more like a synth than a stompbox. Stereo outs and onboard CIT cabinet modeling let it pull double duty on a guitar amp or straight to the board. In the broader X-Series family, the Turbo Flange sits alongside pedals like the Hyper Phase phaser, Multi Chorus, and DigiDelay as one of the modulation workhorses. It shares the same cast metal enclosure and basic control layout as those units but swaps in a Type knob that selects between seven distinct modes, including the infamous Step setting that sounds like a sample-and-hold filter gone wild. Controls: Four top-mounted knobs (Speed, Depth, Regen, and Type), a main footswitch, red status LED, and stereo outputs (Out 1 Mono and Out 2). Speed sets the rate of the modulation sweep, Depth controls how deep the sweep cuts into your signal, and Regen (feedback) sets how intense and resonant the effect becomes. 7 position Type knob (flanger voices): 1) Voice 1: Classic jet airplane style flanging, the sound most players think of when they picture a late 70s or 80s flanger. Great for big whooshing chords and swept lead lines. 2) Voice 2: Throatier, more guttural flange voice with extra midrange growl. This mode leans a bit nastier and can feel almost like a phaser/flanger hybrid when Depth and Regen are pushed. 3) Voice 3: Tube-like flange voicing that softens the top end and adds a smoother, more vocal character. Works well in front of driven amps where you want movement without the effect getting harsh. 4) Rise/Fall: Creates a constantly rising or constantly falling flanger sound. Set the Regen knob between minimum and 12 o clock for an endless rising sweep, or between noon and maximum for a never ending downward dive. It is one of the most alien sounding modes on the pedal when Depth is high. 5) Trig Up: A triggered-up sweep that starts at the bottom of its range when your playing crosses a threshold, then runs upward. Regen controls the trigger sensitivity while Speed determines how quickly the sweep moves. Regeneration level itself is fixed in this mode. 6) Trig Down: The mirror image of Trig Up. The sweep starts at the top of its range and falls when the trigger threshold is hit. Again, Regen sets trigger sensitivity and Speed sets the sweep rate, with feedback fixed internally. 7) Step: A stepped, random-sounding flange mode that jumps between discrete delay times like a sample and hold filter. At moderate Depth and Speed settings it can sound like a stuttering filter or sequenced modulation line, especially in stereo.
