The Moog Mother-32 is a compact, monophonic semi-modular analog hardware synthesizer and sequencer released by [Moog Music] in 2015. It is widely celebrated as a popular "gateway drug" into the world of modular synthesis. Key Synthesis Architecture • Analog Sound Source: It features 1 pure analog Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) capable of generating raw Sawtooth or Pulse waveforms, paired with a white noise generator and an external audio input for processing outside signals. • The Moog Ladder Filter: It includes the iconic, rich 4-pole resonant Moog Ladder Filter, which can be toggled between Low-Pass and High-Pass modes for aggressive carving or warm sculpting of frequencies. • Modulation & Envelopes: Sound shaping is driven by an analog Low Frequency Oscillator (LFO) with selectable Square/Triangle waves, and a 2-stage Attack-Decay (AD) envelope generator that includes a switchable Sustain stage. • 32-Point Patchbay: Embedded on the right side of the panel is a 32-point 3.5mm patchbay. This allows you to override the default signal routing, discover complex sound-design configurations, or seamlessly bridge the synth with larger external [Eurorack Systems]. Onboard Sequencer & Control • 32-Step Sequencer: It packs a powerful voltage-controlled step sequencer capable of storing 64 custom patterns. • Performance Features: The sequencer supports advanced creative parameters like ratcheting (rapid note repetitions), glide, accents, and swing. • 13-Note Keypad: A built-in single-octave rubber button keypad sits on the front panel for manual playing, step editing, and transposing patterns on the fly.
